Amaro

The area’s natural heritage is enriched by the presence of the nearby Monte Amariana and several small rivers that form torrents, waterfalls and lakes as they run downwards. This is the case of the Rio Favarinis waterfall, which forms when the water of the torrent spills over into a canyon of Monte Amariana. The artificial Cison Lake (with a restaurant next to it) is a rather characteristic body of water, where people practice game fishing: you can see Rainis Mill along the road leading to the lake. With its favourable geographical position just inside Carnia, Amaro has in recent years been developing a vast, dynamic industrial, craft and commercial centre.
